As always, NEVER do the "Express" install, but always "Custom" and deselect what you might not want / need. Like multiplayer game trial, Folding@Home, HD Audio drivers, registration.

The Catalyst™ Software Suite 10.7 contains the following:
  • ATI Radeon™ display driver 8.753
  • HydraVision™ for both Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7
  • Southbridge/IXP Driver
  • ATI Catalyst™ Control Center Version 8.753
Caution: The ATI Catalyst™ software driver and the ATI Catalyst™ Control Center can be downloaded independently of each other. However, for maximum stability and performance AMD recommends that both components be updated from the same ATI Catalyst™ release.

Caution: The ATI Catalyst™ Control Center requires that the Microsoft .NET Framework SP1 be installed. Without .NET SP1 installed, the ATI Catalyst™ Control Center will not launch properly and the user will see an error message.

Note: These release notes provide information on the ATI Radeon™ display driver only. For information on the ATI Multimedia Center™, HydraVision™, HydraVision Basic Edition, Remote Wonder™, or the Southbridge/IXP driver, please refer to their respective release notes found at: http://support.amd.com/.

Note: ATI Eyefinity technology gives gamers access to incredibly high display resolutions. As pixel count grows, the graphics horsepower required to drive the displays at a reasonable frame rate can increase dramatically. Depending on the game and system configuration, users may notice texture corruption and reduced frame rates when running games in multi-monitor Eyefinity modes.

Note: WDM drivers are no longer bundled in the ATI Catalyst™ software suite. The WDM drivers install bundle can be downloaded independently through the AMD website.

Note: The Drag and Drop Transcoding feature is a beta level feature provided only for evaluation purposes. The Drag and Drop Transcoding feature is only supported on single and dual core CPUs, and supported on devices that support Media Transfer Protocol (MTP).

Note: Although listed in the documentation, ADL_Adapter_ClockInfo_Get is not available in the current version of the ADL. The code for obtaining the clock information was excluded due to inaccurate information being reported when the card is over-clocked. Future updates of ADL SDK will reflect this change. As an alternative, ADL_Overdrive5_ODParameters_Get() can be used but this API is only supported on R600 and above ASICs.

Re: ATI Catalyst 10.7 released

Installed this 10.7 WHQL ontop of 10.2 WHQL, on my Asus Maximus Formula (x38). HD 4870X2 / Cat 107 / Vista x64 SP2 system. i don't use that system for gaming anymore, don't really care about its 3D performance.

Here the Afterburner 160 monitoring during and after Crysis Warhead x64 DX10 Enthusiast 1920x1200:

Image

Idle is not really in 3D. Afterburner / GPU-Z fail to read correctly with these drivers.
See comment by W1zzard and erocker at tpforums
There is ONE issue also according to CCC though: After quitting Crysis Warhead back on desktop, according to Afterburner 160, GPU 1 stays in 3D mode 750/900 Mhz while GPU 2 switches to 507/500. According to CCC it's the other way around: GPU 2 stays in 3D mode 750/900 Mhz while GPU 1 switches to 507/500....
How to tell which one is accurate... maybe both measurements are false... in the end, what counts is how do the games run, answer is: seemed nothing out of the ordinary sofar. DX9/DX10.
It's not only ULPS i guess, because on 4870X2/Vista x64, the registry shows it isn't even enabled... Afterburner and GPU-Z are not compatible with these drivers.

Still, just for fun tested 3DM06 freshly installed from the CD.
My E8400 runs @ 3.84 Ghz, both Vista and Futuremark read wrongly because they don't understand the 8.5 multiplier...
Result:
Image

I don't know if that is too low? (don't forget that is a Vista system, and the card runs @ stock clocks)

Hmmm... completely uninstalled 10.7 and cleaned system (Maximus Formula (x38). HD 4870X2 / Cat 107 / Vista x64 SP2 ), then installed Cat 10.4. This looks much healthier:

Image

And now with Cat 10.4 the Afterburner 160 monitoring during and after Crysis Warhead x64 DX10 Enthusiast 1920x1200:

Image

No more sticking of one of the GPU's at 3D clocks (750/900) after quitting.
